Everyday is a Fashion show and the world is your runway – unknown

The clothes don’t make the man is a common saying, that has come mean that you should not base your judgement of a person solely on his/her appearance.

But the fact remains that humans are social animals and as such can’t help but form their opinions of their fellows based on their appearance from the very first meeting. This opinion(s) soon shapes how they interact with you going forward, hence a compelling reason why you must leave a very good impression with the clothes you are wearing.

Moreover the feeling of self confidence, self reliance plus the image of success a nicely tailored outfit gives you is unmistakable and helps draws favourable attention to your person because like it or not everybody wants to be associated with a successful individual.

Napoleon Hill the author of several best selling books knew the power a first rate wardrobe possessed, So having just come back from war and with less than a few worldly material possession to his name save for a few well worn suits and military uniforms he had no use for, visited his tailor of many years and in Napoleon Hill’s own words

I picked out the materials for the most expensive suits i ever owned, and ordered that they be made for me at once”.

He did not just stop there,he collected a few more things on credit to add to his wardrobe with a promise to pay back later.

His acquiring of a new wardrobe was not just to satisfy his vanity but was aimed at a much grander plan. The plan was to get a certain prominent publisher to publish his magazine. He found out that the publisher usually walked down to his favourite restaurant for lunch regularly like clockwork at the same time and followed the same route everyday without fail.

So he took advantage of this fact making sure to be dressed in a new different tailored suit to every one of his encounters with the publisher, what’s more, he also made it a point to exchange a few words of pleasantries with the gentleman each time their paths met which was by design.

This went on for about a week, until the publisher unable to contain his curiosity any longer complimented him on his fine suits and asked who his tailor was, then he also asked what he did for a living, to which Napoleon Hill nonchalantly replied that he was preparing the copy for a magazine that he was planning on publishing. The publisher completely won over by Napoleon’s hill prosperous disposition managed to convince him to leave whatever publishing house he was contracted to(which was none)and sign on to his own publishing outfit and as an added incentive offered to bankroll the whole project.

Now imagine that Napoleon Hill had gone to the publisher looking less than impressive, the publisher wouldn’t have given him a chance to present his idea much less sponsor his work, Not bad for Man who until a week ago had no source of income to speak of but managed with the help of a few fine suits to turn his circumstances for the better.

Now, aside from the obvious lesson gotten from this story, there are a few more reasons why you should invest in your wardrobe and they are :

1.It boosts your self confidence.

Dressing nicely makes you feel good about yourself.A feeling which is projected outwards.

2.It can get you the keys to the kingdom.

When a man or woman puts in a decent effort to look their best. They always get favourable attention from the opposite sex just like Queen Esther in

Esther 5:1-3;

5:1 Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king
sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.
5:2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
5:3 Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.
