What does the Zombie,J.k Rowlings and Micheal Jordan all have in common?.If you said they never stay down no matter who or whetever stands in their way.You would be right.
The zombie in the movies as we all know are undead creatures with an insatiable hunger for human flesh. It is this hunger that keeps them going after their quarry despite being pumped full of bullets or cut down to pieces. The only way to stop them is to destroy their brains by cutting off their heads because nothing else will stop them.
J.k Rowlings had a story she wanted to share with the world and she knew that her story would take her and her daughter out from abject poverty to riches so she kept on sending the manuscript of her book to major publishing houses all of which came back with one rejection letter after the other.
Nevertheless she persisted until finally a small out of the way publishing house took a gamble on her.A gamble which eventually paid off big time for the publisher and earned her a networth of $650 million dollars plus royalties for her Harry Potter book.
And for the legend Micheal Jordan. He summed up his career in these words:
I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career.I have lost almost 300 games.26 times i have been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed.I have failed over and over and over again in my life that is why i succeed.
Micheal Jordan started his career with nothing and now has a networth of $1.65 billion dollars as well as having his name written in the history books.
All three of my characters teach a common lesson and that is :
What ever you wish for, you can achieve it so long as you go after it with a tenacity of purpose provided the goal is within reason and that you believe it with the whole of your being that it is achievable despite experiencing temporary defeat then nothing will be impossible for you.
But every great achievement comes with a price.A price that is non-negotiable and its currency is in blood, sweat and tears.
Don’t let people’s opinion of you dissuade you from your dreams.Remember Joseph in the bible had a dream that vexed the brothers so much they sold him into slavery but Joseph’s dream kept him alive and elevated him to the position of the “Prince of Egypt”.They eventually bowed down to in the end.
To conclude this post.I leave you with the famous words of Dale Carnegie :
Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.
